Plugged ducts? Gravity will help the milk flow if you nurse
baby from above, on your hands and knees. Place baby below your
breast, lying on his back. He should be on a folded towel so his
head hangs off the edge, supported by the mattress; thus his head
will not turn to the side. It may help to have the breast aligned
so baby's nose is pointing towards the plugged duct as he nurses.
Another position that can help plugged ducts, is to lie on your
side with baby beside you, lying slightly onto his back. Nurse
from the TOP breast instead of the usual bottom breast.
