High Chair Safety Tips
.Always use restraining straps provided. The crotch strap and waist belt should be fastened as soon as a child is placed in the chair and unfastened only when the child is removed.Remember, the feeding tray does not provide adequate restraint.Without the crotch strap,a child can slip beneath the tray and strangle if its head becomes stuck between the tray and seat of the chair.
.Never allow a child to stand up in a high chair.High chairs can tip if an active child pushes off with the hands or feet from the table, stands up in the high chair,or rocks it back and forth.
.Don’t stray too far from the high chair—especially if the child has shown an ability to unfasten safety straps.
.Keep the high chair far enough away from a table, counter, wall,or other surface so that a child can’t push off from it,tipping the high chair.
.Don’t let a child climb into a high chair unassisted.
.Don’t let older children hang onto a high chair while a baby is in it.This could cause the high chair to tip.
